It is the policy of the Delphi Public Library Board of Trustees to provide the opportunity for comments by the public during all regularly scheduled monthly board meetings.
Members of the public wishing to speak during a board meeting must complete the following request form and submit it to the library director at least five (5) business days in advance of the meeting.
During the Public Comments portion of the meeting, the Board President will call on those persons one at a time to stand and address the Board. Each person will be allowed a maximum of three (3) minutes to speak.
Improper requests include any matter which is confidential by state law, such as personnel issues, or any matter not relevant to the Board. Such improper requests will be addressed outside of the Board meeting.
The Board may need to gather more information in order to make an informed decision. Therefore, it is up to the Board’s discretion whether or not to respond to comments immediately or at a later time.
Meeting minutes will include the speaker’s name, address, and a brief summary of comments, including Board response (if applicable).
The Board reserves the right to amend the standard meeting agenda in order to accommodate both public commentary and other business requiring the Board’s attention.
